Why Choose an Air Purifier?

The City M’s high airflow means it can capture pollutants in spaces up to 1000 sq ft at 2 ACH (air changes per hour). For use in residences, to achieve maximum performance, the City M is ideal for large family rooms, great rooms, and bedrooms up to 500 sq ft at 4 ACH.

Do Air Purifiers Actually Work for Cleaning the Air?

The wrong one does not. There are many air purifiers that have fancy technologies such as UV lights, high temperatures, bipolar ionization, and ionizers. You can search Amazon and find many options but those are not what you want. You want the right kind of air purifier for your home and to keep your loved ones protected

Why Does the Camfil Air Purifier Work Better Than Others on the Market

When evaluating air purifiers – START WITH THE FILTER. Don’t get caught up in the gimmicks from all the new style air purifiers on the market. The best air filter delivers the best protection. Frequently Asked Questions

What kind of filter should be in an air purifier?

An air purifier should have an actual HEPA air filter meaning it’s been tested and certified to accepted industry standards. It should be an H14 which is 99.995% efficient on MPPS (most penetrating particle size) and should come with a certificate of performance from the producing factory that confirms the air filter is an actual HEPA filter.

How important is sound when selecting an air purifier?

Very important. The best air purifier is worthless if it’s left off because it’s too noisy. An air purifier should fade into the background, much like a refrigerator, when the children are doing homework, when you’re working in your home office or the family is watching television. The City M air purifier will not be a distraction to daily life.

How much air should an air purifier clean per hour?

Four ACH (air changes per hour) is the target. This means the total volume of air in the room passes through the HEPA filter four times every hour. To accomplish this, the City M air purifier operates at 250 cubic feet per minute volumetric flow. Note: The four ACHs of the City M are in addition to whatever ACH is delivered by the home or office HVAC system.

What is molecular air filtration?

Molecular filtration captures the gases and vapors made up of molecules that are up to 1000 times smaller than what HEPA filters can capture. Each City M has two activated carbon molecular filters to go along with the two HEPA filters. Activated carbon molecular air filters can capture both dangerous airborne VOCs as well as nuisance odors from pets.

What is VOC?

VOC stands for volatile organic compounds. These are chemicals that in the home can be generated from paint, varnish, carpets, mattresses, cleaning agents, or from office equipment like scanners and printers. VOCs are often more common inside than outside and can be a health hazard when allowed to build up to dangerous levels.

What is the expected life of the filters in the City M?

The typical service life for both the HEPA and molecular air filters in the City M is 18 months.

Does the City M remove the COVID-19 virus?

The SARS-CoV-2 virus that causes COVID-19 is approximately 0.125 microns in size which is within the MPPS size range for a certified 99.995% H14 HEPA filter. However, this virus is generally encapsulated within a much larger respiratory droplet or aerosol so should be captured at an even higher rate. Air purifiers that use HEPA filters must be designed with gaskets and a proper sealing method to prevent air bypass. The City M filters lock securely in place so air is directed through the air filter and not around the edges.
